APP -Cardiothoracic Surgery - Miami Valley Hospital - Dayton, OH

Job Summary

Coverage Need Details: We need a certified PA or certified NP (with RNFA) with
experience in cardiac surgery. Cardiac-surgery APP coverage for Cardiothoracic Surgery Associates -First-assisting; conduit-harvesting; inpatient rounding and consults. -80%-90% is OR; 10%-20% is IP. -EVH: Maquet Vasoview HemoPro 2. -Possible procedures include:
-Placement of lines (arterial and venous). -Removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, IABPs;
ECMO decannulation. -Chest tube insertion is rare but possible, with assistance from
attending surgeon. -After-hours beeper call (not in-house) for consults, OR. -The CT
surgery team doesn’t do advanced heart failure, VADs, or transplants.

Providers Typical Day: CT surgery team has tried to be flexible about the schedule
preferences of the locums APPs who’ve provided (and are providing) coverage for us. The
most common schedule type has been 7-on/7-off, but the team is open to considering other
options. The team is also open to considering other scheduling arrangements, such as two
part-time providers whose joint schedules constitute full-time coverage. The provider will
work weekends.
