Job Summary
Start date: October 21st, 2024
• Support staff: Ped residents cover unit
• Coverage Type: MD Ped Critical Care
• Schedule Details: Weeknights 5p-8a night call coverage – 1 week at a time, Mon-Fri, not every week (depends on how many providers we can present) They are willing to be flexible on schedule. They do not need day coverage but would be willing to consider if the provider really wanted to do both.
• Department Description: It is a 4 bed PICU in a community hospital in Greensboro NC. For the most part it would be like a step-down unit at a larger center. Heart surgery, or heart disease patients get transferred out. No Dialysis or ECMO. They do intubate and ventilate, but very sick kids are transferred. UNC residents rotate to Moses Cone, providers MUST be willing to supervise residents.
Workload increases during the winter months.

• Vaccines Mandatory? No COVID and flu during flu season
• Avg. Daily Census: Average census 1-3 (can be as high as 5-6 or empty).
• Patient Age Group: 0-17
• Beds: 20 inpatient beds
• Procedures: Central lines, arterial lines, Mechanical ventilation, US guided lines, Glidescope intubation/ Intubation of peds patients, LP, CVP lines, arterial lines
Requirements:
• Board Certifications Req’d/Preferred: Ped Critical care
• State License(s): NC
• DEA: Required
• Certifications: BLS PALS (Not required)
• Years of Experience: none
• Credentialing Timeframe: Due to urgency, client is pushing for October start as one of their partners is out on Medical Leave with Cancer.
